SUMMARY:The Art of Storytelling as a DJ Masterclass with Djoid
DESCRIPTION:Behind every unforgettable DJ set is more than just mixing skills\, it’s the art of curation. In this hands-on session\, we’ll dive into the art and workflow of preparing sets that tell a story. Together\, we’ll explore: \n\nThe phases of a DJ set – how to think beyond tracks and shape the night in stages.\nDesigning in chapters – structuring your playlists into journeys that flow with the crowd.\nTagging your library efficiently – practical methods to keep your music searchable\, organized\, and inspiring.\nThinking in chapters – a mindset shift that transforms your preparation process.\nLive example: preparing for a gig with Djoid – watch a set come together step by step using next-generation curation tools.\nWhether you’re a headliner or bedroom DJ\, you’ll walk away with new techniques to prepare faster\, play with more confidence\, and connect deeper with your dancefloor.\n\nIn this workshop\, you’ll learn how to curate unforgettable DJ sets and use Djoid as a tool to help you with building chapters\, finding the right tracks at the right moment\, and elevating your sets with tools designed to match the way DJs actually think and play. \nAbout the artist: \nAlaa is a Berlin-based DJ\, music curator\, and founder of Djoid\, the award-winning music curation platform built for DJs. With over 15 years of experience collecting and performing music\, he has built a library of more than 30\,000 tracks that shape his sound identity. \nBefore starting Djoid\, Alaa led Data and Music Insights at Native Instruments\, where he worked closely with artists and the global DJ community to understand how technology can support creativity. \nDriven by the challenge of preparing DJ sets from vast collections\, he created Djoid to give DJs new ways to organize\, tag\, and design their music into stories. At this workshop\, Alaa will share both his personal approach to music preparation and practical techniques using Djoid\, showing how to think in chapters\, tag efficiently\, and transform gig prep into an inspiring part of the art. \n  \nAbout DJOID: \nBorn in Berlin’s music scene\, Djoid is a next-generation platform built by DJs. We know how overwhelming it can be to dig through thousands of tracks\, manage tags\, and spend long hours in your library to prepare for Gigs. That’s why we created Djoid\, a powerful curation tool that helps DJs organize\, search\, and shape their music into unforgettable journeys. \nWith visual playlists\, and unique curation workflows designed to match how djs think and play\, Djoid makes preparation faster and more creative\, so you can spend less time fighting chaos and more time crafting stories on the decks. \nLinks: \nDjoid.io

SUMMARY:Ableton User Group Berlin w/ Noah Pred
DESCRIPTION:The Berlin Ableton User Group is back! This meetup is open to producers\, songwriters\, DJs\, and musicians of all types and proficiency levels who use Ableton and are looking to exchange ideas\, network\, meet like-minded producers\, and learn new tips and tricks from our presenters and fellow participants. \nDuring the event\, you will also have the opportunity to see the 343 Labs facilities\, meet some of their instructors\, and learn about their courses. This event will take place at House of Music in the cafe on the ground floor.  \nAbout the artist:\n \n\n\n\nCoaxing nuanced expression from analog machines and digital possibilities alike\, Noah Pred has been envisioning the future through electronic music for over twenty years – yet the story of this accomplished artist\, producer\, sound designer\, developer\, educator\, and DJ continues to unfold. \nReinterpreting his signature production style anew\, 2020 saw the release of two full-lengths charting the territories between generative cosmic experimentalism\, intricate polyrhythms\, delicate soundscapes\, evocative acid\, and hypnotic dub frontiers. \nA two-time Juno Award nominee in his native Canada\, a music educator and technologist in his adopted hometown Berlin\, an alum of Cynosure\, Highgrade\, and Trapez LTD\, and founder of the acclaimed Thoughtless imprint\, Noah is also a DJ whose past residencies at Stereobar in Montreal and Fukhouse in Toronto helped lay the framework for his dynamic yet fluid sets that continue to resonate with diverse communities. \nA notable member of Canada’s underground scene in the early 2000s\, Pred’s distinctive production style earned him a place among his peers with releases on Immigrant\, Intrinsic Design\, and Consigned Recordings. Driven by the fuel that fired up Thoughtless\, Noah relocated to Berlin in 2011\, where his creative horizons continued to expand via collaborative projects with Tom Clark as False Image on Get Physical\, with Pablo Bolivar on Apparel and Biotop\, with Tim Xavier on Alphahouse\, and with Deepchild as Concubine. His latest label platform\, Timeshare\, continues to explore the possibilities of creative collaboration while aiming to assist charitable organizations engaged in important work. \nAs Canada’s very first Ableton Certified Trainer\, Noah has taught a wide variety of techniques for stage and studio over the past decade\, at institutions such as the Rich Media Institute\, MacProVideo\, FEED\, 343 Labs\, and BIMM Berlin. He holds a Postgraduate Certificate in Learning & Teaching\, and is a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy. His tutorial articles for Ask Audio and online courses for Ask Video are consistently among their most popular. \nBetween his recent solo EPs for Traumraum\, Compute\, and Biotop\, his vivid sets of techno\, house\, and electro\, the advanced sound design of his haunting atmospherics\, and the ever-evolving scope of his technical capabilities\, Noah’s commitment to innovation remains as strong as ever – and in the face of global uncertainty\, his utopian sonic narratives have never felt so vital. \nWith a variety of custom generative sequencers constructed for his Manifest Audio sound design outlet due for release in 2021\, Noah has turned his focus toward the possibilities of digital media\, sound installation\, and interdisciplinary work\, with the intention to convey metaphysical connections exemplified by his work on Teia and his generative\, interactive Panarchae A/V installation for the Virtual Wonders exhibition at MUTEK Montréal and his Eschatonality piece for Refraction. \n\n\n\nLinks: \n\n\n\nnoahpred.com

At some point\, someone picked up a piece of wood and started drumming. Without stereotypes and free to create. That’s the mindset I embrace when composing. Music is one of our essential resources for living as human beings — to express ourselves\, explore\, play\, and constantly discover new paths and combinations. For me\, it will always be about that.” \nLinks: \nhttps://linktr.ee/melonblush
