Beginner DJ + Music Production Workshop & 343 Labs Berlin Open House

Join us for a free Workshop combining an intro to Music Production with the first steps of DJing, geared towards beginners who would like to get started with both. Two Berlin-based producers, Alex Iso and Keanu Raves, give an overview of producing music with Ableton Live and accessing industry standard Pioneer DJ equipment and the DJ software Rekordbox. Learn why Ableton Live is such a popular software among electronic music producers. Understand the process of creating music from scratch, all the way to playing your track in the club. This workshop is designed for beginners, or people who have produced with other software and are interested in getting started with Ableton. There are no prerequisites to joining, we’ll meet you at the start of you music production journey.

Während der Veranstaltung öffnet 343 Labs seine Türen für ein Open House, bei dem die Teilnehmer die Räumlichkeiten besichtigen, sich über die Kurse von 343 Labs informieren und einige der Dozenten treffen können. Dies ist eine großartige Möglichkeit, ein Gefühl für die Community und die Programme von 343 Labs zu bekommen, andere Produzenten kennenzulernen und Fragen zu unserer Schule zu stellen.

About the artists:

Alex Iso is an audiovisual artist, music producer and DJ. Born in Canada, Alex now calls Berlin home, where he works as Head of Community for 343 Labs. Alex’s creativity centers around live electronic performances combining Ableton Live, MIDI controllers and hardware synths. He performs and produces ambient techno under the solo moniker Alex Iso. With AV duo Static Channel, Alex contributes bass guitar performance along with experimental electronica production to an immersive live performance and visual album releases. With Canadian collective Luxonus, Alex co-creates multidisciplinary installation projects combining sound, video, LED lights and sculptural materials.  Alex holds a Masters in Music Production, Technology and Innovation from Berklee College of Music.

Keanu Raves is an Ōtautahi (New Zealand) producer and DJ who began his journey through the underground in 2018 after an inspiring night out at the Berlin techno institution Tresor. This inspiration still courses through his music, which veers between classic Detroit style grooves and the reverb drenched chord-stab heavy sound of Berlin.
