You’ll be exploring techniques and workflows which professional producers use daily in their work, guided by some of the city’s most accomplished Ableton-Certified Trainers. Learn about studio recording, best practices for running a session, and how to integrate the recordings with your electronic productions.
This course teaches the fundamentals of working in a recording studio and running a recording session with studio musicians. Learn to record acoustic instruments and incorporate the recordings with your productions to create hybrid textures consisting of acoustic and electronic sounds. Explore creating field recordings to make your productions richer. Learn about microphone types and placement, preamps, signal flow, gain staging and how to achieve a high quality recording and use the material inside the DAW to create a well-rounded production.

This course teaches you the framework for music production and is perfect for students with little or no prior music production experience. In this workshop, we will uncover the behind-the-scenes process of music production, and show you some of the essential tools a music producer uses in everyday music creation. During the workshop, we will be learning the fundamentals of working with Ableton Live, one of the world’s leading music production software*. By the end of the workshop, you will leave with an original beat, as well as a basic understanding of the essential music production concepts needed to make a track.
No requirements: No prior music knowledge is required to take this class.

This course will teach you to build a live performance set to perform your music live on stage, integrating the instruments, analog gear, and MIDI controllers that you already play and own.
